Please join us in congratulating Mason Elementary School 4th Grade Language Arts Teacher, Terri Thacker, a 2020 Mason Schools Foundation Above and Beyond Teacher of the Year winner!

After receiving several nominations for Mrs Thacker, she was consistently described as AMAZING for her ability to engage and support her students, for the unique ways she teaches her lessons and for the ways she shows her love and support for each student.

Mrs Thacker also has the ability to motivate kids to enjoy reading and writing. She pays attention to every detail, checks every line of a story or essay and gives constructive feedback and direction for improvement. One parent commented, “Mrs Thacker helped my daughter improve her handwriting and grammar and now her reading and writing stamina is outstanding! She went above and beyond before and during this pandemic!” Another parent pointed out, “I have never known a teacher who dedicates 1 hour of online teaching to regularly read books out loud to her class.”

These are just a few of the many reasons why Mrs. Thacker exemplifies the values of the Mason Schools Foundation by her ability to take students “Above and Beyond.”
