Renee McCord

Please join us in congratulating Mason Middle School 7th Grade Science Teacher, Renee McCord, a 2020 Mason Schools Foundation Above and Beyond Teacher of the Year winner!

Mrs McCord is known among her colleagues to pour her heart and soul into her students every day. She incorporates character as well as Science content into her daily lessons and takes time to listen to each of her students enabling them to be their best self. It was pointed out by a coworker that “Renee truly puts her students health and well being ahead of everything in her class.”

Mrs McCord has made countless contributions to the Mason Middle School Science department. She attended the NSTA Conference (National Science Teachers Association) this year and went to a week long Science camp in Wyoming prior to the start of the 2019-2020 school year. She spent time learning how to bring kids back to the outdoors and has openly shared all of these experiences with her colleagues, enabling them to also teach their students in new and exciting labs and activities.

To sum it up Renee McCord was described as FANTASTIC!! It is an honor to recognize her with this award!
