Please join us in congratulating Mason Early Childhood Center Kindergarten Teacher, Elizabeth Weddle, a 2020 Mason Schools Foundation Above and Beyond Teacher of the Year winner!

Elizabeth Weddle was nominated by her colleagues and described as a teacher who is always helping others. It stood out to the Foundation that a fellow teacher highlighted, “Elizabeth didn’t just take her students Above and Beyond this year, she helped our entire Kindergarten staff to be able to take ALL of our students Above and Beyond, guiding us along the way to assure our first remote learning experience would be successful for all!”

Technology is Mrs Weddle's strength and her colleagues looked to her for guidance as they started from scratch to navigate their way through remote learning. Mrs Weddle worked tirelessly figuring out problems and helping the entire kindergarten staff learn new ways of teaching their young learners.

“It was A LOT of learning for classroom teachers but Mrs Weddle never let anyone down. She would reply to a text or an email in minutes, figure out problems even when she didn't know the solutions initially and went out and found answers to help everything we were using run smoother. (often times before the rest of us even knew to ask), said a kindergarten teacher. “She is always humble and will just say, “it’s what we do for our kids” or “it’s what our kids deserve!” and we would all like to be able to take an opportunity to celebrate Elizabeth and thank her for helping us to be able to express our creativity, reach out to our students and teach and love them through this unprecedented time.

”It was stated, “This year, this pandemic, the saying was - “We will get through this together.” Mrs Weddle clearly helped make us Better Together!”

These are many reasons why we celebrate Elizabeth Weddle as being named the Mason Schools Foundation 2020 MECC Above and Beyond Teacher of the Year!
