Avious Jackson

Please join us in congratulating William Mason High School Band Director, Avious Jackson, a 2020 Mason Schools Foundation Above and Beyond Teacher of the Year winner!

Mr Jackson is also the High School Jazz Band Director and Marching Band Brass Leader. He was nominated by the entire trumpet section for this prestigious award.

Per his students, Mr Jackson keeps it real. He works many after hours, is demanding and sets a high bar but keeps class fun. Mr Jackson will govern with a stick but also a carrot and has has a fantastic can-do attitude.

Mr Jackson goes above and beyond in and out of the classroom. He worked tirelessly on fundraising for the band to have everything needed to stand out among the top organizations in the State of Ohio. His leadership and guidance truly makes a difference to Mason.

In addition to being named teacher of the year, Mr. Jackson is also celebrating his recent May wedding to MMS Choir director, Laura McElwee!
